As my years as a NewJersey Wedding Photographer, I can let you know this one thing. Your engagement session location can play a huge role in setting the tone for your engagement photos. These engagement photos are more than just snippets you share on social media. They can be used for save-the-dates and even decor on your actual wedding day. So as much as you may want to just “wing it” when it comes to your engagement photos, think again! You want your engagement session to be a true representation of your story and experience being a fiancé.
In the case of Emma and Andrew, their Spring Lake NJ beach engagement session was the perfect way to showcase their love story.
Emma & Andrew’s Story
Emma and Andrew first met back in 2020, and from the very beginning, their connection was undeniable. After a few years of dating, Andrew planned a romantic proposal in beautiful California. Surrounded by their entire family, Emma said “yes,” making it a celebration filled with love and joy. Having such an intimate and meaningful proposal with their loved ones present is something they will never forget.
Now, Emma and Andrew live in Colorado with their sweet dog Bentley, enjoying life in the mountains while still keeping the beach close to their hearts. When it came time for their engagement session, it was only fitting to capture their love at Spring Lake Beach in New Jersey.
Spring Lake NJ Engagement Session
Spring Lake is one of the most sought-after engagement photo locations along the Jersey Shore, and for good reason. With its wide sandy beaches, soft ocean waves, and dreamy golden light, it creates the perfect romantic backdrop for beach engagement photos. For Emma and Andrew, this location felt like home away from home—bringing together their love for the beach, fresh sea air, and the peaceful sound of the ocean.
Their outfits perfectly complemented the coastal setting, bringing a relaxed yet elevated style to their photos. As the sun set over the horizon, the beach gave us the most magical light to capture their connection.
Permit & Photography Information for Spring Lake Beach
If you’re planning an engagement session at Spring Lake Beach, it’s important to know the photography guidelines. While beach access is generally free during the off-season, in the summer months (from Memorial Day through Labor Day) you will need beach badges to enter during the day. Many photographers prefer to schedule engagement sessions around sunrise or sunset for the best lighting and to avoid crowds.
No special photography permit is typically required for small portrait sessions, but it’s always a good idea to check the latest rules with the Borough of Spring Lake. Parking is available near the beach, but can fill up quickly in the summer, so planning ahead is key.
Looking Ahead to Their Wedding at Baltusrol Golf Club
Emma and Andrew will be saying “I do” in June 2026 at the stunning Baltusrol Golf Club. This New Jersey wedding venue is extra special to Emma, as she grew up spending her childhood enjoying countless memories at the club. With its classic beauty, lush grounds, and timeless charm, Baltusrol is the perfect setting for their elegant wedding day. It will be such a joy to capture their celebration at a place filled with so much meaning to their story.
