There’s something so freeing about a wedding day that skips the script — and Maytal and Zach’s celebration at Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta, NJ, did exactly that. No formal introductions, no first dance, no cake cutting. Instead: friends, laughter, lawn games, and one of the most naturally beautiful settings in New Jersey.
A Beach Ceremony with Wildflowers and Water Views
Lake Mohawk Country Club sits inside a private lakeside community known for its charming Swiss Alpine–style village square and boardwalk, but it’s the private beach that stole the show for this celebration. Maytal and Zach said their vows right on the sand, with the lake stretched out behind them and a soft wildflower palette from Dancing Petals Flowers tying the whole scene together — loose, romantic, and completely unfussy.
A First Look on the Dock
Before the ceremony, Maytal and Zach shared a quiet first look on the club’s dock, just the two of them and the lake. It’s one of my favorite kinds of moments to photograph — no crowd, no noise, just two people about to marry each other taking it all in.
A Reception Built Around Friendship, Not Formalities
What made this wedding stand out was what the couple chose to leave out. No grand entrance, no first dance, no cake cutting — instead, Maytal and Zach filled their reception with games and time with the people they love most. It was relaxed, joyful, and so genuinely them. Proof that a wedding reception doesn’t need a traditional timeline to feel meaningful — it just needs the right people in the room.
