There is something so hopeful about a spring wedding in Spring Lake — especially when it begins with a dream. I just love the thought of a Spring Lake, New Jersey wedding!
For Kara, that dream was to spend part of her wedding day in Divine Park beneath the cherry blossoms in full bloom. It was something she had envisioned for so long, and like so many April weddings, the forecast in the days leading up brought a quiet sense of uncertainty.
GETTING READY
But when I arrived that morning, there was still no rain… and with it, a feeling that everything just might fall into place. The blossoms were exactly as she had imagined — soft, full, and romantic — creating the most beautiful setting for their first look and portraits together.
Kara got ready just across the street at Chateau Inn & Suites, surrounded by excitement and anticipation. She was absolutely stunning in her Justin Alexander gown — radiant, joyful, and completely present. There was an energy about her that was unmistakable, a genuine happiness that carried through every part of the day.
Kara and Jeff’s story began a few years ago in the most modern of ways — a connection on Tinder that grew into something lasting and meaningful. And standing there in the park, watching them together, it was so clear that they had found exactly what they were meant to find in each other.
FIRST LOOK
When Jeff saw Kara for the first time, his reaction said everything. He instinctively stepped back, almost overcome in the moment, taking her in with a kind of joy that can’t be staged. It was one of those reactions that feels completely real — the kind that reminds you why these moments matter so much.
Their time together in Divine Park, even as a few raindrops began to fall, was everything Kara had hoped for. We embraced it quietly, capturing a few images with umbrellas as the rain softly began, the blossoms still surrounding them in gentle color. It felt peaceful, intimate, and incredibly meaningful.
Almost perfectly timed, as they made their way inside for the ceremony at La Mondina in Brielle, the rain began in earnest.
While the ceremony itself was held indoors, what mattered most was already there — the connection between them, the joy they shared, and the feeling that this day was unfolding exactly as it was meant to.
THE CANDLELIT RECEPTION
The reception that followed was intimate and warm, with candlelight filling the room and around sixty of their closest family and friends gathered together. It was the kind of celebration that felt personal and relaxed, where every moment could be truly experienced. Their first dances were sweet and heartfelt, reflecting the same quiet happiness that defined the entire day.
Florals by Manasquan Florist added a soft, natural beauty throughout, and their cake from Chocolate Carousel was the perfect finishing touch to such a thoughtfully curated celebration.
What I will remember most about Kara and Jeff’s wedding is not the forecast, or the change in plans, but the way they embraced it all. There was a trust in the day, a willingness to let it unfold, and a joy that never wavered.
Even with the uncertainty of the weather, their dream still came to life — just in a way that felt even more real, more present, and more meaningful.
And sometimes, that is where the most beautiful moments are found.
