HOW THEY MET
Jeanine and John actually met on a blind date on the upper east side in New York City during a very crowded Tuesday trivia night. They were instantly attracted to each other as they both will tell you and the rest is history!
FALLING IN LOVE WITH SPRING LAKE BATH AND TENNIS CLUB
John grew up a few blocks from the water in Connecticut and Jeanine grew up spending every summer since she was just eight years old in Lavallette, New Jersey.
When it came time for them to start looking for the perfect place to celebrate their wedding, one of the first places that they went to visit was the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club. It was situated on the beach so they thought it would be perfect to do their portraits right on the beach. It was a dream venue for them.
They also wanted to enjoy some time on the pretty boardwalk that was just a few steps away from the venue. There wedding was in October so they knew that things down the shore would be peaceful during the month and were delighted to have a fall wedding at the shore.
Little did they know, as all of us know, the one thing we cannot control is the weather. The week before everyone was watching the forecast and hearing about a potential nor Easter well to say the least we were all very nervous!
THE WEDDING DRESS
When it came time for Jeanine to try on dresses she wasn’t really sure what style would be perfect. That is the beauty part of picking out your wedding dress, you usually never know until you try it on!
Jeanine has followed Matthew Christoper gowns and decided she would look there. Sure enough when she tried on the beautiful mermaid style she knew that it was the one! It had the most beautiful cap sleeves that hung just off the shoulder and was delicately beaded so beautifully.
HER WEDDING SHOES
Jeanine works for J. Crew and we all know what an amazing clothing line it is. The Company decided to surprise her and custom made her a gorgeous pair of shoes that were light green in color and they were engraved on the inside with her and John’s name and wedding date. Totally stunning!
PRETTY BLUSH PALETTE FOR THE GIRLS
Jeanine wanted a soft and beautiful blush color palette for the overall feel for the wedding. The bridesmaids wore a pretty blush color. The dresses were created by Dessy Creations.
THE GROOM WORE BLACK
I absolutely love John’s choice to wear a striking black tux created by The Black Tux company. I love to see men in tuxedos! There is such a classy feel to it.
As I mentioned above, they did get hit with quite a storm, but this beautiful bridal party and family were ready for it! I love that Jeanine’s sister went out and bought tons of pretty bubble umbrellas for the whole party! We never did get near the beach nor the boardwalk but we made some pretty images at the fun Parker House which is the couple’s favorite place to go!
After the ceremony and portraits, we all headed back to the club and there safe from the storm, Jeanine and John were surrounded by all of their loved ones to dance the night away! It was a beautiful celebration!
