A Surprise Proposal, Laughter by the Ocean, and a Love Eight Years in the Making | LBI Beach Engagement Session
Some love stories feel like they’re meant to be from the very beginning—and for Jack and his bride-to-be, that beginning happened just outside a small-town ice cream shop. Introduced through mutual friends in their cozy hometown, it didn’t take long before smiles turned into something more. Fittingly, their first official date brought them right back to where they met—sharing ice cream, laughter, and the start of something beautiful. While they don’t remember exactly what had them laughing that night, they do know one thing: they haven’t stopped smiling since.
Fast forward eight years, and Jack planned one of the best surprises of her life.
On December 15th, in the middle of the Christmas season rush, Jack suggested a casual day out—some last-minute holiday shopping followed by lunch at one of their favorite spots. As they were also renovating a fixer-upper, after lunch, Jack mentioned they should swing by the house to check on tile choices. With nothing seeming out of the ordinary, she went along… until suddenly, she turned around and there Jack was—down on one knee in the middle of the room they were building into their future.
The surprise didn’t stop there. After she said yes, Jack had another plan in place—her entire family waiting at their favorite restaurant in Westfield to celebrate. "Best day ever" doesn't even begin to describe it!
For their engagement session, we met in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island—a place close to their hearts. The beach was the perfect backdrop to capture the joy and connection that has been years in the making. From soft ocean breezes to golden sunlight, their laughter and love were undeniable in every frame.
Jack and Claudia love spending time at the shore with family, grabbing coffee at their favorite local spot Track5, planning their dinners together, and yes—even heading out for early morning runs. Their relationship is built on shared routines, heartfelt memories, and a whole lot of joy.
This session was extra special—not just because of the stunning beach scenery, but because of how effortless and full of love the two of them are together. It’s clear that no matter where life takes them—whether it’s back to that same ice cream shop, into a beautifully renovated home, or morning coffee runs before work—they’ll be doing it all side by side, still laughing, still smiling.
