HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Nicole and Michael met through the Citicorp Corporate & Investment Banking Associate program in June 2014. Michael loves to joke and claimed aggressively that Nicole pursued him (if you were to ask Nicole she would tell you that this was not the case at all)! In reality, Michael disclosed the real story to his closest friend.
In a sea of 400 men in suits (banking you would assume) , he spotted Nicole’s legs from across the room and slowly gathered the courage over the next two months to inch his way closer and closer to Nicole. When the training program had ended, they both were working on the same floor and became best coffee buddies and very good friends. They did not start dating until 2016 and they have been together ever since!
THE PROPOSAL
In late June, 2017 Michael and Nicole had not seen much of each other due to a busy work schedule and were in need of some quality time together. July 4th weekend was just around the corner and there were no set plans to speak of, as far as Nicole knew. However, in April, Michael set in motion a weekend getaway that they both would never forget! He enlisted Nicole’s father to assist him in making a custom engagement ring and he also made several special plans for the perfect proposal weekend!
While sitting on the couch at home several days prior to July 4th, Michael handed Nicole a calendar which outlined the getaway he had been planning; a three night stay at the Castle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown and dinner at their favorite restaurant, Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
The weekend finally arrived, and while they were sipping champagne and dancing the night away, Nicole sat for a moment to catch her breath. Michael saw this as the perfect opportunity to propose!! When Nicole turned around, there was Michael, ring in hand, asking her to marry him!! After saying yes, they went to Blue Hill to enjoy a beautiful romantic dinner for two to celebrate!
Their beautiful wedding day will be in April 2018 at the gorgeous Castle Hill!
