Katie and Trey met in 2004 while he was working as a bartender and going to college. Katie's brother Scott, invited her to a number of dinners at the pub which Katie always agreed to go; perhaps it was to see a certain handsome bartender.
Scott soon encouraged Trey to ask his sister out for a date! He respectfully declined stating that Katie still had her "21-year old days" ahead of her!
Years later, Katie and Trey's paths crossed again, where they instantly recognized each other and began catching up on all that they have been doing. Months passed, and Katie and her friend decided on New Year's Eve, 2014 to drive across town and meet up with Trey, his brother and lots of friends to ring in the new year! After a fun filled evening together, they both did not want the evening to end. Soon after, they started dating and in less than two years time Katie agreed to spend the rest of her life with Trey!
Their engagement happened on a crisp winter night in lower Manhattan when Trey's dream came true! They both live in Texas and coming to NYC was a total treat for both of them. Katie had spent her early years each summer at her grandmother's home in Bradley Beach NJ. NYC is probably her favorite city ever so Trey knew it would be beyond special to her!
They found their way to Jane's Carousel near the Brooklyn Bridge. Trey had lots of surprises planned for her and Katie had no idea that he was going to propose! First, he found an anklet Katie lost months prior, and presented it as a gift. This was only to distract her!! Once she suggested that he put it on her ankle, he dropped to one knee and presented the real surprise, an engagement ring. The two embraced through tears of joy; he altogether forgot to ask the question. Of course, once asked, Katie answered with a yes!
Their wedding will be in November 2017, in Tomball, Texas at La Tranquila Ranch! And did I mention that Katie is my beautiful niece!!! I am so excited to be the one to capture this gorgeous wedding!!
