April had always dreamt about her wedding day since she was a little girl. She thought about every detail! What her dress would look like and what kind of pretty shoes she would wear.
The time came for her parents to move to Virginia for a ministry opportunity and April decided that maybe a change would be a good thing so she packed up and headed south with them!
Soon April found a job at a preschool where she met a friend named Brittany. Well wouldn't you know it, Brit had a very eligible brother that she thought would be a great fit for April. It took a bit of time before April actually met Chris, but when they did it was love at first sight!
Before long, April knew that her prince had finally arrived and Chris proposed! Of course, April said yes and both families were delighted.
Jeff and I have known April and her family for years, so when she got engaged it was such an honor when she and Chris asked us to photograph their wedding. So we headed south and arrived in Virginia in May to see two very special people get married!
THE DETAILS
April and Chris have many nieces and nephews so when choosing their bridal party they wanted all of the kids to be involved. It was so much fun seeing all of these little ones take a part in their wedding day.
We started the day in a hotel where April and the girls got ready and where she spent some time having fun with the little ones! I enjoyed watching April's pure joy as she prepared herself for her groom. Soon it was time to leave to head to Pochahantas State Park for the ceremony, but before they started April and Chris snuck in a first look. It was such a sweet moment!
THE CEREMONY
There were so many people surrounding these two and the joy and happiness was so evident. In front of a sweet simple lake April and Chris stood side by side as their dear friend Jimmy D. officiated the ceremony. Special music was provided by their close friend Tim and he sang their favorite song. There they stood together as all of their family and close friends witnessed their marriage.
THE PARTY
After spending some time taking portraits and bridal party photographs, it was time to start the party. In the park there was a wonderful lodge where everyone had pitched decorating to make the venue beautiful. The father of the bride's whole family cooked all of the food and it was terrific. The night was filled with laughter and dancing and lots of love!
April and Chris, it was truly my honor to be by your side all day capturing your beautiful love story! Congratulations and God bless!
