I am just so excited to be photographing Corinne and Doug’s Wedding! A wonderful friend and an amazing floral designer Tracey Reynolds Floral Design recommended that Corinne should take a peek at my website!
I met Corinne and her future mother-in-law, Maryann several months ago and we hit it off beautifully! Corinne and I had the same vision for her wedding and especially our collaboration on this gorgeous engagement session.
HOW THEY MET
It was the fall of 2014 when a young architect named Doug was playing in an adult volleyball league where he caught the eye of Corinne , who was in graduate school at the time for an MBA at Rutgers University , also playing in the league. Noticing that Doug was very handsome and a great volleyball player to boot, she had an immediate crush on him! Aside from some casual hellos at the league (Corinne continued to attend the league just to see him there!), nothing was happening. It wasn’t until some mutual friends took matters into their own hands a few months later that the situation changed.
One of Corinne’s friends from the league who was dating Doug’s friend told her that she thought her and Doug would make a perfect couple! She also let Corinne in on a little secret that Doug thought she was cute which gave Corinne the guts to friend him on Facebook! He actually asked her out the same day!
FIRST DATE/JOURNEY TOGETHER
Since Corinne and Doug are both Jersey shore peeps, it was fitting that their first date was dinner in Long Branch, ice cream at Corinne’s favorite place, Day’s in Ocean Grove, and a moonlight walk on the boardwalk. That night they found out that they had so much in common, from their love of volleyball, the shore, body surfing, Coca Cola, (we took lots of cute pics of that!) watching the Office, and most importantly their views on what they wanted for their future. They have been a fixture ever since!
THE ENGAGEMENT PROPOSAL
Four years passed by quickly and Corinne had a feeling that Doug was going to propose, especially when he took her to the same spots they had been to on that wonderful first date, but no proposal happened during dinner, nor at Day’s or on the boardwalk back home to her house! Could she have gotten it wrong? Well, Doug being the gentleman he is, had not asked her father yet, so back at the house while Corinne was occupied, he went out on the porch and spoke to her dad. After receiving his blessing, he went back in and suggested to Corinne they go for a walk. They ended up on the beach in Ocean Grove where Doug proposed —the same beach where her parents met and fell in love!!
When it was time to decide where to do their engagement session, it was an easy decision! We started at Ocean Grove and went to all of their favorite spots and ended in Lavallette where we caught a beautiful sunset to end our day!
Their wedding will be this coming September and will be at the lovely Lake Valhalla Club in Northern New Jersey close to where both Corinne and Doug grew up. Their vision is for a fun filled day with family (including their niece and nephew who will be 16 months old) and friends from near and far and since they both love competition, some lawn games will be a MUST!
