HOW THEY MET
Mike and Justine first met in September of 2013 online and had their first date in Montclair, New Jersey. They decided on a movie date where they saw "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs two". With a title like that, we could see that they both share the same sense of humor!!
They starting dating about a month later and found that they had so many things in common, for instance, their LOVE for donuts!!! Yes, donuts! I totally can relate. As you read on, you will see just how much they LOVE donuts! One of their many shared loves is travel! They have been all over together from California to Amsterdam.
Justine studied abroad in Florence, Italy so they chose this special place for their honeymoon! Justine cannot wait to share her favorite places with Mike.
They both have big families and one of the things that make them so happy is spending time together with family. Food is a big deal in this relationship, while Justine is the cook/baker, Mike is the best taste tester around! You will often find them on their bikes with a big picnic basket in tow heading to the park.
THE PROPOSAL
Mike designed Justine's engagement ring himself. He knew Justine wanted rose gold, (my favorite) so he worked very closely with Lauren B Jewelry in New York City to make sure he got the ring just right!
He hid the ring for months and had to keep changing the spot in fear that Justine would find it. As Mike would say "Justine snoops"!
Remember I mentioned above that the love for donuts would come back, well here it is. Mike worked with Justine's favorite bakery, Montclair Bread Company, to design 4 doughnuts that said, "Will you marry me". While Justine and her mom were out at the local Farmer's Market, Mike was at home preparing and getting everything ready for the proposal!
When Justine walked into their apartment, Mike was there all dressed up. He filled the apartment with lit candles and had the doughnuts displayed in the center of the room with a ton of pictures that he had printed of them commemorating their journey together. He then got down on one knee and asked Justine to be his wife! Of course she said yes. What a romantic Mike is for sure!
Afterwards, Mike planned a beautiful brunch with their families. It was so perfect to spend the whole day surrounded by the people that mean the world to them. The celebration continued that night at their favorite bar, Egan's, in Montclair where all of their friends joined in the celebration.
THE PLANS
Their vision for their wedding day was that they wanted a feeling of intimacy and also a very romantic vibe. They both love to dance so a band is a totally must! When it was time to visit venues, it was absolutely apparent to them when they walked into the Ryland Inn that this was the place!
I am so honored and excited to be the one to be on this beautiful journey with them as we celebrate their love! I cannot wait til November 2018!
