Kalene attended college in Philadelphia PA and had many many friends on campus. It turned out that one of Matt’s friends was going to Philly to visit. His friend decided to invite him and a few other guys from the soccer team to travel to Philly with him. Matt and Kalene hit it off right away and a few weeks later Matt invited Kalene to a friend’s birthday party and they have been together ever since!
Their first date Matt took Kalene to the Iron Horse Restaurant in Westwood, New Jersey. Matt chose a cheeseburger for dinner and as soon as he took his first bite, the cheese literally oozed out all over his face! Talk about a first date!
One of the things that Kalene and Matt enjoy doing together is traveling. They have many opportunities to travel whether it is up to Vermont or visiting friends around the country. They also enjoy getting out and hiking together. One of their favorite things to do is trying new restaurants.
Matt and Kalene decided to have a weekend getaway to their favorite city, Philadelphia seeing that is where it all started! They decided to take a walk through Rittenhouse Park when all of the sudden Matt got down on one knee…..to fix his sock!!! LOL. He was actually stalling because their siblings were in the wrong part of the park. They were there to photograph the proposal but ended up getting lost! Matt continued walking Kalene through the park but decided he could not wait any longer so he reached into his pocket to grab the ring and Kalene shouted, what are you doing……needless to say, she said YES!!
I love that Kalene and Matt are truly best friends. When I asked them where they would like to have their engagement session, they immediately knew the beach! We chose the beautiful Spring Lake Beach in Spring Lake , New Jersey. We started out in town where there is a lovely lake and a pretty bridge for our first outfit and then we headed to the beach! It was so cold, but they both were not bothered at all. The photos truly capture their sweet love and especially the fun that they always have together.
Kalene and Matt will have their beautiful wedding next year at the lovely Mill at Lake Side Manor in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
