HOW THEY MET
Kelsey and Matt met in December 2013 through two mutual friends in Boston, Massachusetts. Matt was heading to New Jersey to visit family coming down from Maine when one of his friends invited him to a holiday party. It just so happened that one of Kelsey's friends invited her to that same party! After being introduced, it did not take them long at all to realize that there was an instant connection between them!
THE PROPOSAL
On a warm June day in Boston, Matt was eager to surprise Kelsey with a plan he had been putting together for quite some time. He just got back to town from a recruiting trip (Matt is a football coach) and picked up her ring.
There is a church called The Sacred Heart Italian Church in the north end of Boston which Matt thought would be a very meaningful place to ask Kelsey to be his wife. He asked her to meet him there so they could light a candle together and right there on the front steps of the church, Matt got down on one knee, took out the ring, and asked Kelsey to marry him! She was totally shocked and said YES! Afterwards, they met up with friends at a favorite restaurant to celebrate.
THE WEDDING DAY
Matt grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Delbarton High School and it is has a very special place in his heart so they decided that they wanted to be married by one of Matt's priests from his high school days. Their ceremony was so beautiful and special, surrounded by all of their friends and families the two became man and wife. It was quite an emotional ceremony!
Afterwards, they celebrated their special day at the beautiful Ryland Inn. The weather was perfection! I love this venue so much and it was decorated in Kelsey's favorite color palette by the amazing Tracey Reynolds (trfloraldesign). The gorgeous green vines mixed with some spray roses, garden roses and various other choice flowers made the tablescape glisten as the sun would come through the beautiful floor to ceiling windows at the Ryland Inn. The sun sets right behind the venue and casts a beautiful golden glow throughout the ballroom. Like I mentioned, my favorite venue for sure!
The night continued on with dancing and celebrating til midnight! They chose an incredible band, the Hank Lane Band and they were just incredible. There was no room ever on that dance floor. Matt and Kelsey are the sweetest and nicest couple and their families are a total reflection of them. I enjoyed so much being a part of their very special wedding day!
