HOW THEY MET
Brit and Jon met at Manalapan High School where Brit was hired as a long term substitute for a physical education teacher. Jon was the high school football coach.
They hit it off immediately, and they found that there days were intertwined because Brit had all of Jon's students as her students. She soon noticed that Jon was always popping his head into her class to "check in" on his players he would say! It soon became clear that he was actually checking on Brit! They soon started dating and after four years Jon decided to propose!
THE PROPOSAL
One night Jon took Brit back to the restaurant where they would go on their yearly anniversary to celebrate. This year was going to be quite different! After returning home that night, there was a gift on the table waiting for her. She knew by the shape of the box that Jon must have bought her a new pair of sneakers (she is obsessed with sneakers).
Upon opening the box, she discovered that there were no sneakers to be found, just a bottle of jaeger and two shot glasses. This was their first drink they had shared on their first date! (Jon is quite the romantic)! Also included in the gift was the 6th Harry Potter book and she was confused why she would need another copy of the book she already had.
Jon explained that this was a special edition that she would love! Once opened she noticed a cut out in the book on the chapter "The Unbreakable Vow". Inside the book was a beautiful engagement ring tied to a purple ribbon. At that moment Jon dropped to one knee and asked Brit to marry him!!
THE WEDDING DAY
Brit and Jon knew that their celebration would be a big one! They wanted a place that would have a rustic/romantic feel and to be big enough where they could invite their big families and friends. They went to visit Bear Brook Valley and totally fell in love with this venue.
They decided to get married in a local church near Bear Brook and the rest of the day was spent at the venue. The guys had so much fun that morning playing different outdoor fun games and the girls had a blast in the gorgeous bridal suite.
Brit has such beautiful taste and her wedding details were perfect. One of the things that I love so much on a bride's wedding day is creating some magic with her details!
Once ready, we all left for the church. It was a beautiful day with much sunshine and perfect temperatures. That always is such a gift especially on a wedding day. After our return, we had some fun exploring all of the beautiful spots at Bear Brook Valley for family portraits and of course, for Brit and Jon's special portraits.
THE RECEPTION
Seeing it was July 7th, they wanted to surprise their guests with a very special fireworks display by Advanced Pyrotechnics that did the most incredible job! It was so much fun photographing Brit and Jon as they watched the display!
If the reception was not special enough, Jon's dad surprised him and Brit by hiring the amazing lead singer from the rock band "Creed" as the special entertainment. WOW!! It was truly a night to remember!
