Alex and Tom met at a party hosted by a mutual friend. The moment Alex saw Tom she knew she was going to marry him! They were introduced and exchanged phone numbers that night. Alex waited for the call and soon enough, the were going on their first date.
Let me back up just a few years!!! I have known Alex since she was born. Her parents and I lived next to each other and I also was expecting a baby 6 months after Alex was born. I too had a daughter and these two girls became the best of friends. They shared so many fun times together as well as our families becoming close friends through the years.
When Alex contacted me to do their engagement session I was delighted. She said she would absolutely love a NYC engagement session on the Brooklyn Bridge and then onto Dumbo! NYC is in their very hearts so this was the perfect setting.
As their plans came together they both fell in love with the Liberty House located in Jersey City, NJ. It is an absolute dream venue for sure. The location on the waterfront and that beautiful backdrop of the NYC skyline made for the perfect place to celebrate their wedding.
Their day started out at a local hair salon in Staten Island called Serenity Hair Studio. These girls were amazing with their creativity. From there we went back to do the rest of the preparation for Alex at her Nona's house. Alex has so many happy memories in her grandparents home that it was not even a question where she wanted to prepare for her day!
The weather was very rainy and cold that morning and we actually did not know if they would have to call the ceremony indoors. But as the day progressed the weather cleared up and it was perfect in every way!
They were married by Captain Bill, a retired sea captain and it was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever witnessed! He pronounced them man and wife and then the party truly began. We were able to have some beautiful portraits done with the NYC skyline as our background and it was gorgeous! After pictures we all went to enjoy the cocktail hour and then on to the party.
Alex's dad had a bottle of Royal Salute scotch whiskey that was over 50 years old and he had saved it for her wedding day! I think they really enjoyed that. The night was filled with delicious food, dancing and lots of friends getting reacquainted after many years. The love of family and friends surrounded them all night. It was the most fun for sure!!
Alex and Tom will honeymoon on the beautiful island of Hawaii.
Congratulations Alex and Tom. Love you guys bunches.
