Alyssa and Patrick met in high school where they attended Rutgers Preparatory School. At this time, Patrick had just gone through a difficult breakup with his girlfriend. They both were part of the same high school group so they were no strangers to one another. He reached out to Alyssa as any friend would do to seek some comfort after a tough experience and Alyssa was right there for him. With all of the time they were spending together, it became obvious that they were growing to be more than friends to their friends. They would spend so much of their time riding horses together and enjoying their time on a friends farm.
Others clearly saw this before they did and so they both convinced themselves for awhile that they did not have feelings for one another other than friendship. All those around Alyssa would tell her that Patrick is in love with her, but she did not want to get her hopes up because she knew that she had fallen in love with him. Patrick was not so honest with himself and denied that his feelings for Alyssa were anything more than friends, yet he found himself constantly preoccupied with her and could not stand to be without her.
During these two years Alyssa did have a boyfriend and wanted to confide in Patrick to let him know she was dating someone. They were both preparing to leave for college and it turned out that Patrick chose the same school as Alyssa. Every time Alyssa would change her dorm room, there was Patrick right there changing his dorm. At this point, Patrick had Alyssa's head spinning in confusion. Finally, after several months Patrick confessed his feelings for Alyssa and told her that he had always loved her. He spent his free time when not studying, writing poetry and songs to win her over. It finally worked!
At this time, Alyssa realized how sincere and honest Patrick was and knew that the relationship she had always longed for was finally happening. They have been dating officially around 5 years and Patrick proposed this past year. Their choice for their wedding is at a beautiful mill located in Stockton, New Jersey. It is the perfect setting for their wedding day.
